REVIEW OF THE PAST

History of APCGCT

The first international conference of gene and cell therapy was held in Osaka, Japan, on July 26, 2015, and the team is aim to establish a platform of research and transformation to promote gene and cell therapy in the Asia-Pacific region. The Asia-Pacific Consortium of Gene and Cell Therapy (APCGCT), which promotes academic and government among various organizations, has a number of keynote presentations from China, Japan, Korea and Singapore with dozens of audience participating in the meeting. The Consortium also proposed that the second Asia-Pacific Consortium of Gene and Cell Therapy (APCGCT) would be held in Tokyo, Japan.

The second Annual Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Consortium of Gene and Cell Therapy was held on July 30, 2016 in Tokyo, Japan. The Consortium formally established and elected a council composed of members from China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, the United States, and the United Kingdom to establish a system of rotating chairmen. Due to the positive feedback of the previous conference, this year the conference attracted guests from more countries to do the theme report. The topics were envoled to be more cutting-edge and pratical, making the research results of the second annual meeting far exceed expectations. At the same time, the conference was open for registration in Japan and the Asia-Pacific region, with a total of about 100 participants.

The third Annual Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Consortium of Gene and Cell Therapy was held at the Shangri-La Hotel, Qingdao, China in October 21, 2017. The meeting was held by Professor Huang Wenlin, the rotating chairman of the conference. This conference invited more than ten well-known domestic and foreign scholars in the field to do academic reports, while with nearly 200 audiences, and other enterprises, such as CNTRIX and Zeiss optics as sponsorers. Importantly, this conference gathered worldwide experts in the field of gene and cell therapy by which shows that the research are being transformed into clinical treatments to benefit patients directly.
